How to keep your leather coat in a great condition?

Leather coats are royal and quite elegant. The key to keep you leather coat in its ideal condition is to make sure that leather is treated in an effective way with leather protector. Leather protectors are easily available from the market in liquid and spray forms. They assist in repelling water and also help in stains prevention caused due to water spots and soil. Protector products must be reapplied at least every year and often if the leather coat is exposed to harsh weather on a frequent basis.

There are different things you must avoid when you wear your leather coat:

Do not fill up your pockets with heavy items as it will cause the leather to stretch and destroy its shape.

Never use hair spray, cologne or perfume while you wear your leather coat. The alcohol will stain the leather when it will get dry.

Do not attach pins, tape, labels or badges to leather. It will ruin the finish and looks of the leather coat.

Always use a wide hanger in order to give support to the weight of your leather coat. Coats must be stored in a dry and cool area that is not exposed to direct sunlight. Don’t choose any location that has sufficient moisture, not even the closed near a washroom.

If you have concerns regarding dust, use a cotton sheet or garment to cover your coat. Never store it in a plastic bag as it can be filled with moisture.
